Silver Skate has always blessed with so much volunteer support from the community. Thank you!
We have a multitude of volunteer positions available for people of different ages, skill sets, and interests. Almost all the volunteer positions are outside, yay :) Dress for success and we will take care of the rest!

Want to get some hearty exercise? Bundle up and join our Site Crew and become a Snow Form Stomper! Create huge blocks of snow for our Snow Carving Teams to create their magic with. Good Boots and strong legs are needed for this vital role.... so come get some cardio in!
Are you an early riser? Get our Mammoet Winter Triathlon racers on "track" (excuse the pun!). People in these roles will supervise other volunteers for one aspect of the race, and work with other Captains on the leadership team. They will Monitor safety & respond to any emergencies that might arise during the race. e.g. Run Captain makes sure that cones are set out for the run; Awards Captain coordinates the awards for the awards ceremony.
Create it and they will come! Join our Site Crew in creating a new Festival Site at Laurier Park. Many hands make light work in helping get the Festival Site ready . A good degree of physical ability is needed for this position.
Are you a Eco-Warrior? Are you willing to help keep the Festival Site tidy? Then we want you! Regular monitoring and emptying of our many refuse receptacles aids in ensuring the Silver Skate attendees have a great time. Ability to walk the site is needed for this position.
Do you like to play? As a Rec. Zone Activator you will be assisting festival goers play a variety of winter sports & activities including Ball Hockey, Curling and Frisbee Golf. Groups of folks are welcome here.
Keeping our warming fires aglow and welcoming our festival goers is the key here. Some moving & lifting of firewood and keeping folks safe is needed.
Help our Silver Skate Festival goers find a sweet parking spot while creating calm from chaos parking! A warm smile and clear directions will give our festival goers a wonderful first impression and get them on site quickly. Special assistance for our Handicap Parking users may be needed.
Our Mission: To provide for the education and enlightenment of Canadians about Canadian winter history, outdoor winter activities, and winter art forms and the promotion of the physical, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing of Canadians particularly during the winter months.
