Edmonton’s longest-running winter festival kicks off this weekend, coinciding with unseasonably warm weather. Starting Friday, Laurier Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with snow sculptures, a winter cinema and skating areas — all for the 36th annual Silver Skate Festival. Erin DiLoreto, the festival’s executive producer, shares what people can expect.
Our Mission: To provide for the education and enlightenment of Canadians about Canadian winter history, outdoor winter activities, and winter art forms and the promotion of the physical, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing of Canadians particularly during the winter months.
