In our northern climate, we have long (beautiful), cold (thrilling) winters which provide the opportunity to play virtually every winter sport imaginable! Come enjoy an old favourite, or give a new sport a try. Winter frisbee golf, anyone? FORE eezing!!

Ball Hockey

Practice your shot and improve your accuracy. Hockey nets and sticks are set up in our "They shoot, they score" range. Elaborate goal celebrations strongly encouraged.

Jam Can Curling

One of Canada's favourite Olympic sports, curling is a popular pastime at the Silver Skate Festival. Curling lanes will be created beside the Hawrelak Pavillion for some end-to-end fun.

Frisbee Golf

Silver Skate has figured out how to take something fun, frisbee golf, and make it a 1000 times more fun. Say hello to winter frisbee golf! Play the wind for a long drive and avoid the dreaded double bogey.

The mission of the Silver Skate Festival Society is to provide a free family-oriented winter celebration blending sport, recreation, arts and culture, showcasing various skating disciplines and promoting outdoor activities in Alberta.
