The Silver Skate Festival, the longest-running winter festival in Edmonton, is a 10-day family-oriented festival that runs each February in Edmonton's scenic river valley.
Combining culture, art, education, sport and recreation, the Silver Skate Festival celebrates the incredible local talent which is as diverse as this northern metropolis which we call home.
Our Mission is to Create Winter Experiences. Our Vision is to Celebrate Winter Prairie Life. We achieve these by learning of prairie life in the past, celebrating our now, and building for our future.
Please help us grow and create free and accessible Winter Experiences for all Edmontonians.
The incredible growth in our audience demographic and our impact on the community presents many challenges going forward. We are excited for the future and building a better festival together. The Silver Skate Festival Society is currently creating a sustainability strategy (aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals) to help us build an impactful and sustainable organization for the community.
