Josh Languedoc is an Anishinaabe playwright, producer, performer, and teacher who has made a home in beautiful Treaty 6 Territory. Most recently, you will have seen Josh’s producing work at the Edmonton Fringe Festival as the curator of the all-Indigenous pêhonân Series. Committed to supporting the growth of Indigenous artists and communities, Josh has stepped into the Silver Skate Festival as the Indigenous Coordinator.
For his first year with the festival, Josh is building an Indigenous pavilion that will include installations, stories, and a Winter Walking Ceremony. The pavilion will be physically inspired by the directions of the Medicine Wheel. It will face the appropriate directions and be located in the familiar space near the cafe. On both Saturdays and Sundays it will feature interactive programming from 12-5pm. The night will end at 6:30pm with a Walking Ceremony hosted by Adam Erasmus. Festival-goers will follow Adam in a sacred walk around the park ending with an intention setting and tobacco offering.
